The Truth About Oils

BASE, OR, CARRIER OILS

These are oils such as; Olive, Argan, Jojoba, Castor, Almond, etc. They are used as conditioners and moisturizers in hair and skin care products, and to dilute essential oils.

RESINS​

Resins are the hardened sap from certain trees like; Frankincense (Boswellia), Myrrh, Balsam, Copal, Benzoin, Dragon's Blood, etc. Resins are used for their medical properties and as natural fragrances.

ESSENTIAL OILS

These are oils such as; Lavender, Orange, Sandalwood, Rosemary, etc. Essential oils are distilled form flowers, roots, barks, and seeds. They are the concentrated 'essence' of that plant material and are used for their medicinal properties and as natural fragrances.

ABSOLUTES​

Absolutes are EXTREMELY concentrated essential oils and are used for their medical properties and as natural fragrances.

ESSENTIAL OILS & ABSOLUTE EXTRACTION​

Essential oils and absolutes are distilled from; flowers, leaves, stems, roots, seeds and barks. They can be separated from the plant medium with just steam, alcohol, or CO2. But a lot of plant materials, such as barks and seeds, take a VERY long time to distill with alcohol, steam, or CO2. To speed the process many companies use solvents such as benzene, dimethyl, or hexane, which are all poisons made from extremely cancer causing petrochemicals.

Some companies tell you on their packaging that the oils or absolute are solvent derived, but few say what that solvent is. ALL the oils and absolutes used in our product are derived with Steam, alcohol or CO2 (all of which COMPLETELY evaporate off and leave a clean, healthy product.
